Great things happen when passionate people come together to create healthier communities.

Across WA, from Broome and Newman to Pinjarra and Capel, Healthway-funded programs are helping improve health and wellbeing in ways that are meaningful, local and lasting.

Here are the stories of the people and organisations creating a healthier WA. 

2026

Royal Life Saving WA

For nearly two decades, the Bidyadanga community pool has helped children build healthy habits through swimming, healthy food and community connection. The popular Swim for Fruit program rewards kids for staying active while supporting lifelong wellbeing.

Western Flames Ice Racing Club

From beginners to elite competitors, the Western Flames Ice Racing Club is building a culture of healthy habits and high performance. Healthway support is helping young skaters learn the value of nutrition, training and teamwork.

Shire of East Pilbara

In one of WA’s hottest regions, the Community Active Living Program is making it easier for people to get active and improve their wellbeing. Supported by Healthway, the initiative is helping residents discover new ways to move, connect and thrive.

Fair Game Australia

Fair Game is empowering children in remote WA communities to live happy, strong and healthy lives. Through Healthway-supported programs, young people learn about nutrition, wellbeing and physical activity in a culturally responsive environment.

Community Arts Network

Using music and the arts as a catalyst for connection, Now Sounds Katanning is helping young people grow, learn and thrive. The program brings communities together while supporting positive wellbeing and self-expression.

Western Australian Rugby Union

The Ellenbrook Vipers Rugby Club is proving that success is about more than winning games. Through a strong focus on wellbeing, inclusion and healthy lifestyles, the club is helping young players thrive.

Ironstone Adventure Riding Club

Through off-road riding and strong social connections, Ironstone Adventure Riding Club is promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. Supported by Healthway, the club offers a healthy and inclusive environment for riders and families.

Collie Speedway

Collie Speedway is proving that healthy habits can thrive in unexpected places. Through its longstanding partnership with Healthway, the club is supporting smoke-free lifestyles, healthier eating and positive wellbeing across its community.

The Literature Centre

The Influence Lab gives young people the tools to question vaping culture and share powerful messages through creative expression. The Healthway-supported program is building confidence, critical thinking and healthier choices.

2025

Ishar Multicultural Women’s Health Services

Healthy Food, Healthy Cultures is helping newly arrived refugees and migrants overcome barriers to healthy eating. Supported by Healthway, the program combines nutrition education with culturally safe and trauma-informed support.

The University of Western Australia KIDDO Program

Developed by UWA, KIDDO is transforming the way schools teach movement skills and physical activity. Supported by Healthway, the program is helping thousands of WA children build confidence, capability and a love of being active.

Geraldton Sporting Aboriginal Corporation

From the footy field to the classroom, GSAC is helping young people build confidence, resilience and healthy habits. Supported by Healthway, the program is making a lasting difference in Mount Magnet.

Downsyde HIPHOP101



Through beat-making, songwriting and performance, HIPHOP101 empowers young people to express themselves and strengthen their wellbeing. Supported by Healthway, the program uses hip-hop as a powerful tool for connection and positive change.

Curtin University Crisis to Calm

Crisis to Calm is an Australian-first initiative helping young people navigate the mental health impacts of natural disasters. Co-designed by young people and supported by Healthway, it strengthens resilience through practical skills and social connection.

Albany Youth Support Association

The Albany Youth Centre provides a safe, welcoming space where young people can connect, create and grow. Supported by Healthway, its arts programs are helping participants build confidence, develop skills and strengthen their wellbeing.

The City of Vincent

Healthway support helped the City of Vincent turn its vision for smoke-free town centres into reality. The project is reducing exposure to tobacco smoke and creating healthier public spaces for residents and visitors.

Ngurra Kujungka

Ngurra Kujungka is creating stronger, healthier communities by bringing young people together through sport, culture and recreation. With Healthway support, the organisation is helping the next generation build healthy habits for life.

Motorcycling WA: Mini X

From Mini X riders to state championship competitors, Motorcycling WA is using sport to inspire healthier lifestyles. Supported by Healthway, riders are learning the value of nutrition, hydration and wellbeing both on and off the track.
