Our Healthy Schools Program provides grants ranging from $3,000 – $5,000 to public schools and their Parents and Citizens Associations (P&C’s) in Western Australia. These grants help schools run projects that promote the health and wellbeing of students and the school community through activities aligned to the Health Promoting Schools Framework.
Projects should aim to:
- increase student health-related knowledge and skills
- positively influence health behaviour and student health and wellbeing
- create school environments that support good health through policies and practices.
The 2026 Healthy Schools Program will open on Monday 9 February 2026.
The 2026 program guidelines and toolkit will be ready in Term One, in the meantime, you can get prepared by:
- Registering in our Grants Portal.
- For new organisations: Register your school or P&C in the Portal and set up your account for validation.
- For existing customers: Log in to confirm your account details. Update any changes so your account can be revalidated.
- The Legal signatory for your organisation (e.g. School Principal, Chairperson/President for P&Cs) must register as users in the Lotterywest Healthway Grants Portal with a unique email address.

As we now have a Lotterywest Healthway Grants Portal, we no longer accept emailed requests. See below on what you need to consider prior to submitting a grant request through the Grants Portal.
To use the Lotterywest Healthway Grants Portal, please note the following:
As the process below may take some time, we strongly encourage users and organisations to register and update their organisation details as early as possible to avoid the risk of not being able to submit a grant request by the grant request deadline.
- All grant requests must be submitted through the new Grants Portal. Hard copy grant requests will no longer be accepted by email.
- All users and organisations will need to be registered prior to submitting a grant request through the Grants Portal.
- Email addresses must be unique to the user and can only be registered once (e.g. john.smith@organisation.com or chairperson@organisation.com or john.smith@bigpond.com). To ensure data and user details are secure, generic email addresses such as admin@organisation.com or reception@organisation.com can no longer be accepted.
- Once your organisation is approved, you will need to enter the Grants Portal and update all of your organisation information and attach mandatory documents prior to submitting a grant request. Once submitted, our Customer Service Team will review and validate the organisation details.
- You may begin drafting a grant request while your organisation details are in the process of being validated, however, you will not be able to submit a grant request until your organisation details have been validated.
- Please select the “Healthy Communities” grant request form, then select the “Healthy Schools” category within the request when prompted.
For further guidance on the Grants Portal please review our Grantee how-to-guide. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on 133 777, healthway@healthway.wa.gov.au or find out more about the Grants Portal here.
