Accessibility

Our commitment to web accessibility

Our website aims to deliver the best level of customer experience to ensure we provide everyone with equal access. With this in mind we’re working towards meeting the highest level of accessibility standards (AA) in line with the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 (WCAG 2.0).

This website is powered by WordPress and has been designed to be as accessible to as many users as possible, including:

  • People with disabilities who may use assistive technologies
  • People with slower internet connections.

The accessibility features available

When using our website the NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader is the most suitable and Healthway completes all testing with NVDA.

In most browsers, you can use the ‘Tab’ key to move between links without having to use the mouse. When you’re on a link you wish to visit, pressing ‘Enter’ will take you to the linked page. To help users of assistive technology with navigation, Healthway utilizes WAI-ARIA landmarks for headers, navigation and footers, as well as programmatically defined headings. If you use assistive software such as Jaws or NVDA, you can use its features to present you with link lists, or to shift the focus directly to tables and lists in a page.
The Healthway website is best viewed using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer versions 11+.
