Susan Hunt PSM
Chief Executive Officer
Ms Susan Hunt PSM commenced as Chief Executive Officer of Lotterywest in July 2017 and in January 2018 was concurrently appointed Chief Executive Officer for Healthway, another Western Australian statutory organisation.
From 2014 -2017 Susan was the CEO of Perth Zoo, following a career in public policy, conservation and research.
Susan was the President of the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums from 2015-17 and of the Australasian Zoo Association from 2007 – 2011. Susan has previously served as a Board Member of the Trustee of the International Species Information System, is on the Board of VenuesWest as well as an invitee on the Board of the Perth Festival.
She has received an IPAA Patrons Award and in 2010 was awarded a Public Service Medal for her outstanding contribution to public service.
Susan is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand School of Government and in 2017 was made an Australian Fellow of the Institute of Public Administration (IPAA).
Ms Julia Knapton
Director Health Promotion
Ms Julia Knapton is an experienced public health practitioner, having worked in various roles in education and health for more than 20 years. Her experience spans the areas of physical and health education, health promotion, social marketing, and contract and program management.
Before commencing at Healthway, Julia worked as Director Planning, Policy and Strategy at the Mental Health Commission with responsibilities for mental health, alcohol and other drug strategy and services development, and consumer engagement. This included overseeing the development of a number of key strategy documents including the Western Australian Mental Health Promotion, Mental Illness, Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention Plan 2018-2025.
She holds a Bachelor of Physical Education degree, Post Graduate Diplomas in Education and Health Promotion, and a Masters in Public Health.
As Director Health Promotion, Julia has responsibilities for leading Healthway strategic partnerships, research, health promotion and evaluation support, and strategic health promotion.
